The view that the Brits were benign and much better than their predecessors in India and Africa is without question,the great subterfuge of our time…

For the likes of us growing up in the 80s and 90s, we were often told that only the narratives of history should be taught, as such, vast numbers of British citizens know absolutely nothing about the ugly, genocidal aspects of British imperialism… a great tragedy of the 21st century British educational system

This is to my mind is responsible for the inexorable rise of revisionist right wing historians such as Niall Ferguson and Andrew Roberts.

using moral relativism to seek to abrogate the Brits of their mess is profoundly unacceptable.
