African Political Leadership and Its Pointless Vilification of Gay People

A rant in the strictest sense of the word.

African leaders have to be among the most stupid set of people in the world today.

Not content with being useless on every metric imaginable — economic growth, literacy, healthcare, infant mortality, safety — they have chosen to embrace an issue, which has the least effect on the quality of lives of millions of people.

And what might that be, I hear you ask?

Gay rights.

In their heads, policing the sexuality of their citizens, carried much more weight than ensuring that their economy thrives and the lives of their citizens are much more enhanced than ever.

And the leaders of Ghana, Uganda, Kenya are the players whom I have in mind.

Nana Akuffo-Addo is the Oxford educated President of Ghana and has been in charge for a good few years now.

Before the pandemic, Akuffo-Addo had the initiative of encouraging African-American back to country, which was a huge success.

Billions of dollars were pumped in to the Ghanaian economy and it was all the better for it.

While it is easy to blame the pandemic for 2020 and 2021, it became apparent that all wasn’t well…
