All Political Positions are Morally Ambiguous: The Point is To Seize and Harness Power
The left will continue to lose ground to the GOP until they learn this valuable lesson.
Last week I wrote an article excoriating Obama. In the piece, I held him responsible for the rise of Trump and failing abysmally to stamp his power on the recalcitrant Republicans.
My view was that Obama was all too happy to bomb the crap out of the Yemenis, Libyans and Syrians, but when it came to taking a clear stand on issues that mattered to those who voted him into power, he was as meek as a mouse.
As expected, the knives came out for me.
There were those who described me as unhinged and some were less extreme in their use of language.
There were those who made weak excuses for America’s first Black President and there were a few people who agreed with me.
But in all honesty, I didn’t care one bit.
Why?
I do believe that the left has made an art form of losing the seminal arguments of our time and along with it, crucial elections.
It is almost as though being politically left and pragmatic are mutually exclusive in the eyes of the Democratic leadership.
