Almost inevitably degenerates into name calling.

One of the more entertaining rewards of reading such drivel is the level of engagement in the “Responses” section. It ranges from level-headed people trying to educate the author with facts and personal experiences to people whose outrage has gotten the better of them, and they simply rain abuse and vitriol on the author. Almost inevitably, within two or three exchanges, the conversation degenerates into name-calling.
