The 15th of February 2003.

It didn’t matter that it was an impossibly cold winter’s day. Hundreds of thousands of people congregated in central London to march against the war in Iraq.

And what was interesting about that very day was that it was replicated in cities across the world. Rome, Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna, New York and Washington D.C. weren’t left out of the action.

Our efforts came to nought as America backed by the United Kingdom had already made up their minds to invade the Middle-Eastern country led by one of the most ruthless dictators that the world has ever seen —Saddam Hussein.

And the results of America’s misadventure is there for the all to see: hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead, ubiquity of carnage and the splintering of Iraq into a completely ungovernable state.

And we can’t forget to mention the financial costs of fighting a pointless war which was escalated by the Democrat who took over from a Republican: 2 trillion dollars.

$2 trillion?

Surely, that’s got to be some wild projection. That’s the GDP of Africa’s leading economies put together.
