American Student Debt Cancellation: I was The First Writer on Medium To Predict Biden’s Masterstroke
And it has come to pass.
Now it has been confirmed.
President Biden announced yesterday that 340 billion dollars of student loans will be forgiven.
For those who received the Pell grants, their debt forgiveness will come to $20,000 and for those who didn’t receive the grants, $10,000 will be chalked off.
The timing of this announcement is indeed propitious given that we are eight weeks away from the midterm elections and it also marks the fulfillment of a major campaign promise by Biden, two years ago.
And from a personal standpoint, this news has given me a reason or two to be quite smug.
Why?
I was the first writer on this platform to explain in some detail that Biden would cancel student debts ahead of the elections in November.
Given the President’s poll ratings and a dearth of any legislative success at the time, it only made sense…
