An Open Letter To The Argumentative Penguin On Kamala, Kemi and Identity Politics

Dear Argumentative Penguin,
I have been a fan of yours for a minute and enjoyed your material, even when there are points of divergence and heaven knows there have been several over the years.
When you were silent working on your personal projects, I was worried that something had happened to you and wrote a short piece in appreciation of your talents.
But in the last few days, we have been on opposing sides of the argument as it relates to the stupidity of the American electorate and the wider ramifications of Donald Trump’s election victory.
Here’s the thing: I have not been hung up on the business of having Black faces in high faces since Barack Obama’s victory in 2008.
America’s first Black President had the opportunity of a lifetime in clipping the wings of those who caused the global economy to collapse and side with those who elected him to office.
And what did he do?
Printed trillions of dollars and rescued the banks with no strings attached and gave neoliberalism a second chance to shaft billions of people around the globe.
