President Biden should do the right thing.

News came in late yesterday that Justice Stephen Breyer will be retiring from the Supreme court. Suffice it to say that the timing of the announcement is somewhat propitious. Not least because of the midterm elections coming up much later this year, which could see the Democrats lose their majority in the senate and the house of representatives.

Prior to this announcement, President Biden did state on the campaign trail, that he will appoint an African American woman to the Supreme court, in the event of winning the general election.

Now that he is president, Joe Biden has been given a golden opportunity to fulfill a major campaign promise.

No sooner had news of Justice Breyer’s retirement came out than a few names were mentioned.

Kimberly Crenshaw, Stacey Abrams and Letitia James were among the names mentioned on social media. All of these women are profoundly exceptional and talented individuals.

It was Kimberly Crenshaw who brought Critical Race Theory to the wider public. Her role in creating this revolutionary line of thought, which has been a lightening rod of criticism for the divisive GOP, isn’t talked about enough.
