Dogs are our best friends.

It goes without saying.

And our four legged companions are known to provide great joy to their owners.

If you, like me, follow various pet accounts on Twitter and Instagram, a two minute clip of these animals is more than enough to brighten up our day.

But I am a bit curious.

Do dogs discriminate against each other?

Do German Shepherds look at Pit Bulls with disdain and hatred? Are chihuahuas inclined to view Jack Russells through the lens of inferiority or superiority?

Do Labradors go round plotting the genocide of other breeds that they take an instant dislike to?

Do Rottweilers spend their entire time thinking about how best to colonize Terriers and mongrels? Are there elaborate economic systems that we have yet to pick up on?

Is there an elaborate framework in the doggy kingdom, to which humans are…
