Are Our Collective Greed and Stupidity, Central To The Continued Success of Neoliberalism?

You don’t need to be an academic or an intellectual, to have heard of words such as Oligarchy, Plutocracy, techno feudalism and neoliberalism in the last few years.
As profoundly destructive as social media is, to our mental health and intellectual evolution, you will have read and seen posts, calling people’s attention to the grotesque economic inequality of life in western societies.
But it wasn’t always like this.
It was a consensus among the winners and losers of the second world war, that huge investments needed to be made in education, healthcare and infrastructure to elevate the living standards of hundreds of millions of people.
This was especially true in the country of my birth, with the Butler act of 1944, which opened up education to millions of working class kids and this was also followed up with the founding of the National Health Service and the building of council homes across the country.
