Exactly three years ago, I wrote the article which would change my life forever on this platform.

In It, I described the growing inequality and stated that life would get considerably worse for the poorest in society, given the degree to which the government of the day had striven to destroy the entire polity.

It is pertinent to point out that when my post went out in March 2021, Brexit had only become policy then and we were several months away from the disastrous Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak.

The tone of the piece, was understandably grim, given that we were in partial lockdown and economic activity still hadn’t picked up.

But was I right? Are the poorest in society not worth saving, three years on?

Let’s re-examine the case.

As bad as things were back then, there were independent energy firms, which provided heating services at reasonable prices and our water firms hadn’t begun dumping sewage in our waters.

But by the end of 2021, It became clear to the vast majority of Brits that they had badly misjudged what they thought was all about regaining their sovereignty.
