At Last, An Interactive CEO on Medium
The beginnings of something special or a false dawn?
As with those who receive the Medium daily digest mails every morning, I awoke to an article that the new CEO of Medium wrote in the immediate aftermath of his appointment to the role.
In his post, Tony Stubblebine wrote of his various roles that he had played over the years on the platform, which has uniquely equipped him for the next phase of his journey:
I know this because I’ve been deeply involved with Medium from the start: first as an advisor, then as an author, and most recently as a publishing partner.
As is his wont, our protagonist took the time to assuage the concerns of those of us who think that his appointment would herald a return to the status quo:
The first thing to know about me is that I place a tremendous value on listening and open discussion. Good thing Medium is the perfect platform for that. You will find me to be a very active participant in the community, as I have been from the start
What was interesting about Tony’s three minute article wasn’t his grand campaign promises but what took place in the comment section; I have come to appreciate over time that the comments page is usually the best way to ascertain the degree to which the write up is seen as a success or failure.
