Bernie Sanders: A Profound Apology
An open letter from the American people
Dear Bernie,
You should be the current President of the United States of America.
You have been entirely consistent in your political beliefs since you burst onto the scene as a mayor in the 1980s.
And much more importantly, you were right about nearly everything.
You were right about the avarice of the insatiably rapacious corporations which have been sucking the life out of America’s desperately poor for the last forty years.
You were absolutely bang on the money about the extortionate university tuition fees and the urgent need for debt forgiveness.
You were right to be outraged by the corporations charging an absolute fortune for insulin to treat their diabetes.
And you were right about paying people a living wage in the richest country in the world.
Unlike your political contemporaries in the Democrat party, who have always pretended to be on the side of the working people, you were genuine in your affection for the very poorest in society.
And when you decided to run for President, you gave so many of us great hope that things could be done differently; that a new America was possible.
