Biden Has Proved Much Smarter Than His Enemies and Predecessors: He Deserves a Second Term

Not even Reagan had full measure of his Russian counterpart as the current incumbent does.

For all of Ronald Reagan’s silver tongued performances on the global stage, USSR’s disintegration had little to with the former Hollywood actor’s actions. The Soviet empire collapsed all by itself.

Back in the 1980s, things were much more straightforward: you knew who the enemy was. And the enemy was the “evil empire”which had Eurasia in its pocket.

But today, America’s enemies are many and actually quite complex. It has to worry about the Chinese, Russians, Iranians, North Koreans, Saudi Arabia under MBS and to a much lesser degree, India.

Joe Biden has had to worry about the Chinese claiming full ownership of the South China sea, an invasion of Taiwan; the man-child in Pyongyang firing missiles at his southern neighbour; Iran’s nuclear ambitions and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and not forgetting the Middle East.

While it may be true to state that these problems aren’t any different from what Obama, Bush Jr. and Trump had to grapple with, but what’s different has been the manner with which these issues were handled.

And how’s that?

The Ukraine war is an interesting case in point.

Unlike the catastrophic war in Iraq and Afghanistan, in which America committed several trillions of dollars and left an unimaginably huge mess for successive governments to clean up, the war in Ukraine was fought with France, Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom as proxies.

And how’s that panned out?

With Europe serving as the collateral damage for America’s efforts behind the scenes, by way of soaring energy costs and not to mention the destruction of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

You must appreciate how much of big deal this is considering that Vladimir Putin began the year in a much stronger position than Biden as the most powerful man in the world.
