Biological Children Of Catholic Priests
The extraordinary story of the church’s dirty secret.
As leading officials of the Catholic church, Priests are required to take an oath of celibacy upon ordination.
But what happens when these priests have children, whom they cannot and have chosen not to acknowledge?
For Vincent Doyle, he only found out that he was the biological child of Father J.J. Doyle, when he was reading through the priest’s poetry, when he found the same line of thinking, streaming through the clergyman’s work. Only then did it occur to him, that the man, with whom he did gardening work and accompanied on several projects as a child was his father.
Vincent Doyle went on to set up a mental health helpline online — Coping International —for biological children of priests, totally forgot about it for several months, by the time of his return, he was shocked to find 13,000 cases of children being sired by men sworn to celibacy.
Of these 13,000 children sired by Catholic priests, from far flung parts of the world, three countries seemed to dominate the search online for help to deal with dirty secret:
Ireland, England and The United States of America.
