Back when Boris Johnson was Premier and Rishi Sunak was the chancellor of the exchequer, Ms. Mone secured the multi-billion pound contract to supply hospitals with personal protective equipment when the pandemic was wreaking so much havoc across the land.
What was extraordinary about Mone’s PPE contract was that the company through which the bid was secured only came into existence, three weeks prior to the government’s announcement.
And this revelation is also exacerbated by the fact that the PPEs which were supplied to the vast majority of hospitals in the United Kingdom were deemed useless by the frontline workers and had to be destroyed.
And how much was written off by the Tory government?
£14.9 billion.
An amount which could have been spent on a massive pay rise for our public sector workers, a great number of whom are massively underpaid and heavily reliant on food banks.
