No wonder why they are seething with rage and turning on each other….

The news broke on Sunday that Michael Gove, the senior Brexiteer charged with the levelling up agenda, had met with David Lammy, a senior parliamentarian in the Labour Party to discuss ways in which Britain could re-engage with the continent, given the harsh reality of our lives outside of the European Union.

In the eyes of millions across the country, it was the greatest indication of the irreversible failure of Brexit.

And with good reason too.

For the very longest time, we have had every single Conservative politician, right from the Prime Minister to every one of his minions evading questions on Brexit.

To them our economic difficulties were due to the aftermath of the pandemic and global inflation crises and nothing to do with Brexit; the problems regarding the unfilled vacancies across various sectors of the economy, the crumbling of the NHS, the shuttering of small and medium enterprises wasn’t in any way shape or form relating to our exit.

And for the very longest time, the British people bought into this great lie.
