Britain Will Never Be Free Until The Daily Mail and The Sun are Destroyed

Britain’s right wing tabloid newspapers control the temperature of public debate.

In America, you have fox news with the likes of Glenn Beck and Tucker Carlson. In Britain, we have the Daily Mail and The Sun.

As we have come to appreciate over the years, Fox News has never cared about the facts or nuance when reporting the news and its British equivalent is no different at all.

And what’s interesting here is that Fox News and The Sun are owned by the same individual: Rupert Murdoch.

The Daily Mail was established by Alfred Harmsworth, (later to become Lord Rothermere) in 1896.

Its raison d’etre was the preservation of the interests of the upper class. This was evident in its support of the Boer war, when Britain went to war with the Dutch over control of the rich resources in South Africa at the end of the nineteenth century.

This newspaper was also responsible for the very first anti-immigration campaign in Britain’s history, when its efforts were directed to demonizing Chinese migrants to the United Kingdom in what was known as the Yellow Peril.
