In a number of hours, the attention of the world will be fixated on a tiny oil rich nation situated in the Middle-East.

Qatar will pay host to thirty-two nations as they participate in the quadrennial tournament to see who emerges the number one nation.

As expected, the White European cognoscenti have been quite critical of the decision by FIFA to award the hosting of the most prestigious tournament in the world to a country that takes a dim view of gay rights and gender equality.

Reading The Times newspaper, you are left with the distinct impression that an oriental country has no business hosting the football competition and you are also left thinking that the writer has no sense of history or if at all he did have one, it was cast aside in a bid to paint an unsympathetic picture.

So why have I written this?

History.

To have an idea of what Qatar is really all about in 2022 is to have a sense of history.

And having a sense of history requires all the sordid and ugly bits being brought out in the open to analyze the current state of the world.
