Britain’s Nurses are Paying a Very Steep Price For Brexit

And this is why they are hitting the streets baying for blood.

No set of people have been as gaslighted and treated appallingly in the United Kingdom today as our nurses.

For those who have long memories, they will remember that during the pandemic, they were made to work under the most inhumane conditions while being paid an absolute pittance for their efforts.

Some of us will also remember that these women and men of valour gave everything to save the life of previous prime minister —Boris Johnson — when he came very close to being a statistic in May 2020.

And upon making a full recovery, Johnson came up with the silly idea of people coming out of their houses at 5pm to applaud the nurses for keeping the national health service afloat.

And for a minute, the British public bought into the idea, clapping for our nurses in recognition of their sacrifice.

But when it came to the point of reviewing their wages to reflect the harsh economic realities of post Brexit Britain, our government baulked, offering them what could best be described as the most insulting wage increase of all time.

And what was it, by the way?
