Europe Is On The Brink of Implosion
Extreme weather, far right exploitation of fears concerning immigration and its poor economic prospects have left the natives restless and angst ridden about its imminent destruction.
Yesterday, general elections were held in Spain.
As expected, immigration was expected to be high on the agenda, with the far right seeking to make political capital out of those who have fled their homelands to seek refuge in Europe.
The results, thus far, showed that the Spanish Conservatives had won the greatest number of seats along with their extreme right coalition partners but it might not be enough to form a government.
But the Spaniards aren’t alone here.
Germany, the country which gave us Adolf Hitler and Nazism, has seen resurgence of the extreme elements which it was once known for.
Berlin is known as one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and one which prides itself on its forward looking approach. The images which emerged from the Pride march held quite recently tell a powerful story to the wider world.
This favourable view of a welcoming, gay friendly city runs contrary to what really goes on out there.
And what might that be?
