It’s all over.

Our man has resigned in disgrace.

His departure came after a record number of ministers left his government, leaving him with no room to maneuver.

And now that Boris Johnson’s political death has been confirmed, we must ask ourselves the question on how we got to this point and how we allowed ourselves to be seduced by a bunch of public school educated chaps?

For the last 12 years, We have been held captive to a bunch of expensively educated white men who had no business running anything, never mind a major economic power.

But it wasn’t always like this.

The United kingdom, for a long minute, had fallen out of love with old Etonians.

Eton, after all, had produced the vast majority of its Prime Ministers in the 19th and the better part of the 20th centuries, but they had become an anachronism in the age of social mobility in the 1960s. The likes of Harold Macmillan and Alec Douglas-Home had come to represent a relic in the age of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

And then totally out of the blue, Britain recommenced its love affair with old Etonians in the twenty first century, initially…
