France Has Made Vaccination Mandatory For Competing International Athletes
Another nail in the coffin for Djokovic and the anti-vaxxer movement.
The biggest take away of the Omicron strain of the Corona virus, currently raging around the globe is that sportsmen are among the biggest anti-vaxxers in the world right now.
From the NFL and the NBA in America to soccer players throughout Europe and Asia, the falsehood that vaccines are detrimental to the health of paid athletes has taken on a life of its own. That the likes of the immensely popular Joe Rogan has used his platform to denounce vaccines has done the wider public, absolutely no favours.
Thus far, there’s been a number of professional footballers (Alphonse Davies and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang) who have been sidelined with heart problems since suffering from Covid-19. Whether these cases of heart lesions are related to being vaccinated or not remains to be proven.
But what we do know is that the vast majority of those who have contracted the Omicron virus have not been inoculated.
France, under Emmanuel Macron, has passed a legislation, forbidding unvaccinated citizens from gathering in public spaces and made it mandatory for international athletes to provide proof of vaccination before entry to participate in sporting competitions.
