The coup that Bolton did refer to without being entirely specific, was a badly executed exercise.

But the big points are the numbers of American interventions which have made the world infinitely unstable politically.

And the degree to which coups are seen by the state department as de rigeur.

I have come to appreciate that very few can handle the extraordinary complexity of America’s interventions abroad; As much as I want to write 30 minute articles, I need to bear this in mind.

The highlighted section which forms the basis of your critique simply speaks to the thinking which has shaped America’s foreign policy for the very longest time.

I hope that my point makes a bit of sense.
