Nigeria.

A failed state of two hundred million people has been going through the ringer in the past few years, with poor electricity, soaring inflation, non-existent security and the highest number of out of school children in the world.

With its myriad complex problems, you would think that its leadership class would steer well clear of popular culture and the British royal family?

Nope.

Instead some clever clog operating within the confines of a non-functional state chose to invite the exiled royal couple — Harry and Meghan to Nigeria to mix with the locals and by doing so, granted the trolls, yet another reason to vent their fury on the Sussexes.

But this isn’t just about the trolls; it is also about colonized elite Nigerians, who wear their ‘subject’ tag like a badge of honour.

Why have I used the phrase ‘colonized elite Nigerians’?
