Here’s a Radical Idea: Scrap 85 Percent of all British Universities
The time to bring an end to one of the greatest scams ever is now.
A degree isn’t worth very much these days.
And it hasn’t been worth very much for the longest time.
At a time when wages have stagnated for well over a decade with hundreds of thousands of British graduates stuck in minimum wage jobs which do not require advanced literacy skills, never mind a piece of paper with specialized calligraphy, there’s never been a better opportunity to call time on this legalized scam.
And the universities which produce these pointless degrees?
Not worth the bother at all.
The industrial revolution in the 18th century led to the creation and expansion of polytechnics and universities.
And this growth continued throughout the intervening centuries when the British empire was at its zenith right through to the aftermath of the second world war in 1945.
You could argue that this expansion was largely fueled by the folks from the previously colonized territories who believed that the acquisition of a British education was key to building a great and prosperous society.
