After a lifetime of abusing Black girls and women, justice has finally been served.

Yesterday, the jurors in New York’s federal court, after having heard from a great number of witnesses over the course of several weeks found Robert Sylvester Kelly, otherwise known as R. Kelly guilty of sex trafficking and various other offences.

This judgement caps of decades of the worst kept secret in the entertainment industry and the Black community — R. Kelly’s prolific abuse of under aged girls.

Going back to 1991 when he burst onto the scene with the backing group called the Public Announcement with the hit song titled: ‘vibes’ , there’s a part in that song he said something along the lines of “ little Aaliyah’s got it”. Little did we know that there was so much more to those words in the song that we all ignorantly danced to back then.

Joann’s got it
Leonice has got it
Theresa’s got it
Tonia’s got it
I tell ya Cheryl’s got it
Boy I tell you
Betty’s got it
Chip has got it
And Ann’s got it
Gail’s got it
Stephanie’s got it
And Sabrina’s got it
Rachelle has got it yeah
Gladys got it
Fontina’s got it
Little cute Aaliyah’s got it
Ooh Stacy’s got it
I tell ya
Tita’s got it
I tell ya Rita’s got it
Oh Laurel’s got it
And Kim’s got it, yeah
