I might have agreed with you had I never travelled to China. It runs a model that will inevitably unravel.

With a number of its citizens catapulted into the middle class and able to travel and see the world, they will begin to clamour for the sort of political freedoms and rights that their contemporaries in the west have.

I see China imploding if it doesn’t address the issue of human rights abuses of its citizens and the plight of the Muslims of Turkish descent in its midst.

For all of its success, China does have a huge inferiority complex, while that will fade with time, I don’t see the current political set up in China holding up for another 50 years.
