I profoundly disagree.

There are ethnic names in the west that is at odds with white society and that will never change.

And you had folks like Barack Obama Sr, who made the decision to give his son the same name and added Hussein for good measure.

And yet America elected him not once, but twice.

I am wholeheartedly in support of giving children names with philosophical and historical reasons.
