Wael Al Dahdouh has been the face of defiance, of resistance and of extraordinary courage in the last few months.
Courage in the face of genocide.
We are talking about a man who has lost several members of his family to Israeli genocidal attacks and yet has chosen to carry on.
And then the IDF decided to go one step further and finish what they started: which was to target the man himself.
Late last week, our man was injured by an Israeli missile and his colleague, Sameer Abu Daqqa bled to death from his injuries.
And this sums up everything that Al-Jazeera has been at pains to point out to the rest of the world for the last year and a half.
When Shireen Abu-Akleh was killed 18 months ago by the Israeli army, the Qatari news channel stated that she had been deliberately taken out by the aggressor.
And the IDF strenuously denied this claim for the longest time and when the American state department did their own investigation, it was clear to them that the shot which killed Abu-Akleh actually came from the Israeli army.
Fast forward to the 7th of October 2023.
