Incredibly extraordinary stuff.

The young cops didn’t want to hang out with the “old lady,” and several instructors were overly mean to me in both ageist and sexist ways. Cops think of themselves as macho men, and the fact that a 54-year-old woman could do the same job they do threatens their images of themselves. Those masculine, tough guy images of what it is to be a law enforcement officer are in dire need of updating.
