Interestingly, I read a book on CRT nearly twenty years ago. My views have grown to appreciate the subtleties and complexities of the matter.

CRT has become a lightening rod for those who haven't read one line to stoke white resentment. The issue is that just as rural whites bought into the southern strategy, the evocation of the silent majority in the past to help the GOP gain power, the use of CRT today is simply a means to an end- Republican success.

But on the question of my article, these players who have acquitted themselves brilliantly should never have been subjected to abuse, from their own fans.

But I recognize that the abuse is symptomatic of a wider malaise in society.
