Anti-Semitism was for a very long time, the pre-eminent sociological, economic and political disease of western Europe.

Much of the literature and history which emerged from Portugal, Spain, The Netherlands, Poland, The United Kingdom and the city states which became Italy, Germany in the late 19th century, was full of anti-Semitic tropes, which were extraordinarily shocking and have stood the test of time.

King Edward I expelled 3,000 Jews from England in 1290, while the Spanish Inquisition actively targeted and persecuted Jewish communities.

The Pogroms in modern day Ukraine and Poland in the early part of the 20th century, murdered hundreds of thousands of Jews.

Adolf Hitler’s Final solution to the Jewish question, had centuries of history and did more than anything else to expose the sheer atavism and moral bankruptcy of white supremacy.

However deluded Winston Spencer Churchill was about preserving the empire on which the sun never set, his American counterpart could see that their German adversary was no different from the British and this thinking led to the creation of the Atlantic Charter — a document which signaled the ending of Pax Britannica.
