Eschatology and other questions on the veracity of the bible.

It’s been a fortnight since Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II passed away.

For those who do not know, the recently deceased monarch was the head of the Church of England and defender of the faith.

This peculiar arrangement of being the head of the Anglican mission was down to one of her forebears —Henry VIII —who chose to breakaway from the Catholic church and set up his own.

Even though it was repealed by Queen Mary I, Elizabeth I put it back in place and it has remained that way ever since.

Her Majesty, on the advice of the ruling politicians, gets to appoint the Archbishop of Canterbury, who swears an oath of allegiance to Her Majesty

So why have I brought this up?

The bible and its supposed veracity.

It is the case that the bible is the basis of Christianity.

We derive our guidance on all spiritual and moral matters from this book.

For those who are conversant with the scriptures, you will remember the ten commandments were issued directly by God to Moses, when he led the Israelites out of captivity. For those who do not know, I should take the liberty of reproducing these instructions below:

I am the LORD thy God

No other gods before me

No graven images or likenesses

Not take the LORD’s name in vain

Remember the sabbath day

Honour thy father and thy mother

Thou shalt not kill

Thou shalt not commit adultery

Thou shalt not steal

Thou shalt not bear false witness

Thou shalt not covet

Now if we were to look at every one of these commandments in relation to the life and deeds of Her Majesty, it is fair to say that Elizabeth II fell short of obeying these instructions, right until her last breath.

The supreme governor of the Church of England was happy to pay huge sums of money to Virginia Giuffre…
