Is TikTok’s China’s Way of Supporting The Palestinian Cause?

Xi Jingping has been in the news lately.

But not for reasons you think.

The leader of the Chinese Communist Party rolled in to see the senile octogenarian — Joe Biden—a few days ago and also stopped by in San Francisco to see the gatekeepers of the tech world too.

In a speech which has gone viral several times over, Xi Jingping spoke of never betting against the United States and not interfering in its domestic affairs.

The speech touched all the right buttons and was meant to be the very first step in the rapprochement between the helmsmen of the largest economies in the world.

But I wasn’t buying the fine words of the wily old Chairman Xi ; not for a nanosecond.

Xi Jingping was never going to do what Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa has done in denouncing Israel’s violence by standing with the Palestinians, but be rest assured that he has been working overtime in using China’s soft power to tip the scales in Palestine’s favour.

China’s soft power?

Yes indeed.

Unlike the United States or the United Kingdom for that matter, the Chinese Communist Party has a major say in the output of their tech companies…
