Is Trump’s Victory, The Ultimate Proof of White America’s Inability To Shake off Its Ugly Bigotry?

Just asking….

James Carville, Clinton’s political strategist in the insurgent 1992 campaign, would have us believe that it was the economy, which put paid to the Democrats’ chances in winning the White House.

And he wasn’t alone.

The polls for the better part suggested that the reason behind Kamala’s poor performance was high inflation, which made people’s wages a lot smaller than it actually was.

While we should never negate the might of inflation, which is to all intents and purposes, a stealth tax, there were more important factors at play and we must not lose sight of this salient fact.

And what is this all-important factor?

Race and gender.

The vast majority of white men and women were unprepared to vote for a Black woman and it didn’t matter that reproductive rights and health insurance were on the chopping block.

Far too many of us on the sidelines were much too deluded into thinking that America was mature and sophisticated enough to shed its ugly, tragic and bigoted past in voting for a woman of colour.
