If Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin were a chess player, the man would wipe the floor with Garry Kasparov and every other grandmaster, without batting an eyelid.

And no, this is no hyperbole.

The man who was forced to swallow the extraordinary humiliation of watching his country splintered at the end of the communist experiment in the late 1980s, has bided his time for a moment like this.

And it is all coming together.

Contrary to the nonsense which was spouted regarding Russian hackers in the days, weeks and months following Trump’s 2016 win, it was clear that future elections would require something much stronger than cyberwarfare and the Russian strongman decided to take things to a whole new level and this entailed using the wealthiest man in the world as pawn in purchasing Twitter.

That Russian oligarchs linked to the Kremlin were a part of the 44 billion dollar buyout of the social media giant isn’t conjecture nor conspiracy theory, but an acknowledged fact.

And this salient fact was entirely responsible for the direction in which Elon Musk swung in the run up to the elections on the 5th of November.
