Isn’t It Time To Consign Nate Silver and The Other Pollsters To The Dustbin of History?

The uselessness of a previously feted pollster has come into sharp focus with the midterm results.

It was meant to be a red wave.

A political tsunami, the likes of which we had not seen since 2010, when the Democrats were dealt a severe blow by American voters for their failure to properly punish the bankers for destroying the economy .

This was meant to be the election which would usher in the Republicans back to the top table. In senate and in congress.

And judging by what we had read from Nate Silver and the other pollsters going into Tuesday’s elections, we were filled with dread and great angst.

It was deja vu all over again.

And with good reason too. Nate Silver’s predictions that the Republicans had a 53 percent chance of taking senate and an 87 percent chance of taking the house of representatives made absolutely perfect sense this time.

Why?

The American currency — the dollar — more than at any other point in its history was on the ropes; with its supremacy being questioned by players who would have been so happy to its bidding in times past.
