A new dawn has broken in the United Kingdom.

Or has it really?

It didn’t take too long for the destruction of the Conservatives to be confirmed with the landslide claiming a good number of prominent players —Jacob Rees-Mogg, Penny Mordaunt, Grant Shapps and the profoundly useless and hapless Elizabeth Truss.

For those of us watching , there was an overwhelming miasma of schadenfreude which accompanied the proceedings, earlier today.

Not unless you have lived through the last fourteen years, will you have an idea of the scale and scope of the damage wrought by the Conservatives.

We have had to contend with austerity, Brexit, Covid-19, the arbitrary rise in the cost of living, sewage filled waters and the wiping off of our pensions, by the insatiably rapacious bankers.

And through it all, the Tories did nothing but gaslight us into thinking that Kosovans, Romanians, Bulgarians, Poles, Albanians were the problem with our polity.

There were no repercussions for Boris Johnson going off to party with the head of the KGB, while abandoning his security detail nor were there any consequences for the gang at 10 Downing Street, who drank themselves…
