McDonald’s UK Has Failed To Learn From Its Failures, Twenty Three Years on
The culture of incompetence runs much deeper than we realize
Last week, McDonald’s UK launched the limited edition Chicken Big Mac sandwich. As is the case with these promotions, the airwaves were dominated with all things McDonald’s.
Given the degree to which people’s lives have been blighted by the lockdown restrictions in the last two years, the new promotion from the world’s biggest fast food chain, seemed like a breath of fresh air, and it looked like that the entire country came out, all at once, to partake in this one time experience.
And then the unthinkable happened.
No sooner had the special promotion begun than they ran out of burger buns, frozen chicken patties and not forgetting the chicken mayonnaise sauce.
And in a bid to save face, they came up with this egregious post, embedded below:
This latest debacle might have been forgivable, hadn’t we known that McDonald’s UK owns a number of subsidiaries, which produces the ingredients used for the burgers consumed, in and around the country.
