Quick disclaimer: I have never liked Naomi Campbell.

And this goes back a number of decades.

But my personal views on the uber successful, South London born model is of no consequence; none whatsoever.

But what I have found truly extraordinary about this individual is her phenomenal talent for reinvention, which has served her quite well through the decades.

Folks will remember when Ms. Campbell was part of the ensemble of supermodels who wouldn’t get out of bed for 10,000 dollars and when she jumped on a number of ugly wealthy white men — Flavio Briatore and Mick Hucknall — back in the 1990s.

And there was her friendship with African leaders.

For those of us who were fully aware of her visceral antipathy to all things Black, her friendship with Nelson Mandela, took us all by surprise and she took things several notches up, by becoming bosom buddies with a war lord — Charles Taylor — who had killed several thousands of his people and had cornered the diamond trade in the neighbouring country — Sierra Leone.

And if it weren’t for the trial of the former Liberian leader, we would have had no idea of the nature of the relationship between these individuals, when it became…
