Nayib Bukele and The Profound Stupidity of Ilhan Omar
The successes of autocracy vs the illusion of democracy.
America has always been extremely deluded about nearly everything: race, abortion rights, history, economics, finance and of course, democracy.
And its extreme delusion regarding its interpretation of democracy has led to the countless coups, wars and genocide in far flung parts of the globe.
You don’t have to be a student of history to know about what took place in Indo-China and by this, I am referring to Vietnam and Cambodia, where millions of folks were killed in the name of ‘democracy’.
And you don’t need to be a student of history to know about the events of the 11th of September 1973, when the elected Chilean President — Salvador Allende — was overthrown by the CIA and was replaced by their guy — Augusto Pinochet — who made his country the first guinea pig for the idea which would wreak havoc in the lives of billions around the world — neoliberalism.
We should also include the wars which took place in Central America in the 1980s and Reagan’s efforts in arming the contras against the Sandinistas and what it meant for the global drug trade, when Oliver North’s crimes came to light during the Iran-Contra scandal.
