Keir Starmer has only being in office for 9 weeks and yet his time in Downing street has been just as destructive as any of his Conservative predecessors.

Ahead of what’s very likely to be a gruelling winter, the British Prime Minister made the decision to cut back the fuel allowance of the most vulnerable demographic — old age pensioners.

If you’re reading this, it is perfectly acceptable to ask what winter fuel allowance has to do with an extraordinarily egregious economic ideology?

Quite a bit, as it happens.

Nearly every politician has absorbed the conventional view that raising taxes on the wealthiest 1 percent to pay for public services is anathema and it is why the government of the 6th largest economy in the world cannot afford to support its most vulnerable.

To know the capital city of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is to know what extreme capitalism looks like.

Bermondsey, Millwall, Peckham, Surrey Quays are places which are less than 30 minutes away from the financial heart of Europe — the City of London — and yet the poverty rates are much higher than the national average.
