It is widely accepted that we live in profoundly patriarchal societies, in which men’s needs are elevated above women’s.

It is bad enough that men don’t take responsibility for their actions, but what’s worse is that the gender to which I belong thinks that it has the right to control what a woman does with her body.

And before you think that this is an American problem, you only have to look to what happened in the United Kingdom, when a serving police officer raped and killed a woman (Sarah Everard) walking home by herself in 2021.

What was also shocking about this particular case was the number of serving male officers who spoke on behalf of the perpetrator.

People will recall the spates of rapes and killings that took place a few years ago in India and protests which arose from it. China isn’t at all a progressive country where women’s rights are concerned.

Our extraordinarily egregious behaviour has also produced the likes of Boris Johnson and Nick Cannon, who have given new meaning to that world famous passage from the holy bible which says: Go forth and ye multiply

For the British audience in this space, Nick Cannon is an American entertainer, who was once married to Mariah Carey. Since the end of his marriage to the legendary singer, our chap has gone on to procreate at an alarming rate.

Nick Cannon has 8 children and it is said that two are on the way.

For the Americans in this space, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, known to us Brits as Boris Johnson is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the guy who is exclusively responsible for my country being a huge mess.

But what you didn’t know about the British leader is that, he is also a thrice married, serial philandering father of nine children.
