One man is rewriting the rules of what it means to be a tennis player in this day and age.

For all non tennis fans, the Wimbledon tennis competition is currently taking place in South-West London.

What’s interesting about the wonderful world of tennis is that the gatekeepers have sought to present themselves as the very opposite of the sort of people that you encounter at football stadiums across England: the civilized sort.

Everything about the all England club speaks to this world view: the dress code, the insistence on enjoying the game in silence, the approved moments of spontaneity and should the crowd get ahead of themselves, there is always the chap whose voice comes on, telling the spectators not to get ahead of themselves.

The likes of Serena and Venus Williams, Lindsey Davenport, Martina Hingis, Maria Sharapova, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal have always bought into code of conduct at Wimbledon.

But one man has completely bucked the trend.

His name?

Nick Kyrgios.
