Numerology and Astrology: A Pseudoscience or a Paranormal Phenomena?

Just asking….

There are some things which cannot be explained by facts alone.

And even among those whose lives are circumscribed by facts and reason, we find them lapsing into phrases such as: ‘ill-fated, should the stars align, destined, unfortunate, coincidence and hard-luck’.

It is as though there’s a tacit acknowledgement of forces much more powerful than us exist somewhere in the universe.

And I, for one, have always been susceptible to astrology.

It wasn’t enough to know what my star sign is: I also needed to know what the ascendant sign was (which is determined by the time of the day or night that you were born) and where the rest of my planetary positions were placed (Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Pluto etc.) at the time of my birth.

And if all of those things felt wholly inadequate in making sense of my existence, then there was numerology to lean on.

And this enquiry took me to a witch in a highly salubrious part of North-West London.

For It was Gay Sumery, in Hampstead, who opened my eyes to the secrets of the world of numbers on the 14th of September 2012.

Numbers, numerology?
