I think you may have completely misunderstood the article.

I am pointing out that Scotland has gone bust twice in its history.

The first led to the union and the second led to Scottish nationalism.

My point is that going it alone is something that Scotland isn't necessarily prepared for; it will lead to all kinds of problems which could mean a third bail out.
