One Piece of Advice To all Newbie Writers: Don’t Waste Your Money on Blogging Courses

When the renowned method actor, Dustin Hoffman was lamenting about his travails on getting into character to Sir Laurence Olivier, on the set of Marathon man, Britain’s best known thespian replied to the two-time Academy Award winning actor: “why don’t you try acting.”
The reason why I have written this piece of anecdote is in the title of this article.
Everywhere you turn, there are all sorts of scribes, offering writing and blogging courses, usually at extortionate rates to suckers, who believe that they will emerge from this program with the writing abilities of Salman Rushdie, John Grisham or Stephen King.
There are a few of them operating in this space, who have honed their seductive technique to those gullible enough to believe them.
And I wonder, how on earth do these charlatans get away with it?
To those who pay for these blogging courses, they do so to fulfill a deep psychological yearning at wanting to get better at the craft of writing great articles. They suffer from a crippling lack of belief in their abilities and they think that by paying for some hustler, they will automatically become the superstar that they have always dreamed of.
