Plagiarism: Is It as Bad as It Gets on Medium, Even Among Marquee Names?
My very short take on the subject matter
There is no such thing as an original idea. All ideas are derivative.
That is to say that a vast majority of the articles (if not all) that you have read here are entirely based on what someone has written elsewhere, whether on social media or in the national papers.
In a great number of my posts here, I have taken reasonable care in referencing the books and newspaper columns which have provided the inspiration.
And ditto my colleagues here on Medium.
When I wrote about Foxes being domesticated in London, Michelle Scorziello was the biggest influence and I made sure that it was reflected in ending credits.
Before writing my very first article on Bitcoin, I made it a point of duty in crediting the basketball loving Frenchman, whose work I had read countless times.
Also when I wrote about my foot fetish several months ago, I made sure that I cited who the source was.
Why have I written this?
Last week Sunday, I authored an article about the church and End Times, I wrote extensively about the use of fear by the Pentecostal movement in increasing membership and their financial base.
