Ev Williams’s legacy is secure.

At least with Medium.

Whatever criticisms that you may have of our space and everything that the owner and his successor have done, it must be stated that these gatekeepers have kept it on an even keel for the last twelve years, and this is so much more than we can say for Twitter.

And It is highly unlikely that posterity will look upon Jack Dorsey kindly, for making the decision to sell Twitter to the worst possible individual in the world — Elon Musk.

Whatever it was which took place between Williams and Dorsey, that led to the former being ousted and the latter taking over the reins of the most important social media platform, it’s proving to have profound political and economic consequences for billions of people around the globe.

So why I have written this?

It was announced a few days ago that pornography will be allowed on Twitter or X.

Imagine President Joseph Robinette Biden, announcing his latest initiative on X, with people retweeting and quote tweeting, only to find a busty blonde or a Hottentot goddess plying her wares on the very same thread?
